I don’t get out to Waikele much except on trips to Lowes and to Christmas shop at the factory outlets. When I do get out there I invariably go to Y’Kele Korean B-B-Q. The other choices don’t appeal to me and I figure it’s better for me than McDonalds since I get veggies on the side.
Today I ordered my usual Mini Chicken Katsu($5.79), no rice. When you get no rice you get three choices of vegetable sides. I had the broccoli and a double shot of kim chee. The katsu was made to order, hot and crispy. It was great. It’s not as refined as the version at Kafe Imperial, but pretty satisfying. I like the accompanying katsu sauce too. The kim chee wasn’t too hot, but had a mild kick, just the way I like it. I usually get bean sprouts too, but they hadn’t been put out yet. The broccoli was crunchy and tasty. The serving size of the mini is even too much. I couldn’t eat it all.
If you’re out in Waikele and want some Korean B-B-Q, definitely check out this place. It’s not fancy, but everything I’ve had has been good.
