a sybarite in paradise
reviewing the food & entertainment pleasures of Honolulu

OK foodies, get out and see this charming film. It’s the funniest Pixar film in a while and tons of fun. The animation is excellent, especially the food. It is a little weird, rat in kitchen and all, but that’s really part of the story too. As the ghost of the deceased chef Gusteau keeps saying throughout the film: “Anyone can cook.” I always thought that myself. Of course not everyone can be a Thomas Keller. Mr. Keller was a consultant for the film, creating the final dish: Confi Byaldi, a fancy version of the film’s title. Keller’s recipe can be found at the New York Times here.

I won’t go on about the plot and characters with so much being said about the film. I really enjoyed it. It made me want to rush home and cook something complicated.
