Kauai

In June 2004 we took Honu to Kauai one weekend and flew back home, leaving Susan on the boat in Hanalei Bay. The next week we flew back and sailed back to Ohau. This was our first trip and testing out the boat
after it's refit.

Molokai-Maui

In September 2004 Howard's nephew was in town and we sailed to Molokai & Maui and back. But before that Susan and some friends moved the boat to the Yacht Club in Kaneohe, right near our home. She had one big oopsie.

Lanai

This video includes a November 2004 day sail. We practice rescuing someone by throwing John off the boat and then retrieving him. It was also calm enough to swim. The video also has our weekend trip to Lanai.

French Polynesia

In 2005 we had the great pleasure of flying to Tahiti and sailing around for almost two weeks. This was spectacular fun. The video also documents some of the other people Susan hosted on the boat. We were the last and benefited by her knowing the best places to go.

The Coconut Milk Run

In 2006 I sailed across the South Pacific on what's known as the Coconut Milk Run. We started in French Polynesia (Tahiti) and stopped in Aitutaki & Roratonga Cook Islands, Tonga, Fiji, New Caledonia and landed in Bundaberg Australia. The trip was 10 weeks, with lots of time in port to explore.

Kipuka

Alex bought a boat but wasn't around to sail it from Maui to Oahu. So Susan, her boat mechanic Gerard and I flew over and sailed it back for him. It was named Bandit at the time. This Ranger 33 was a dream to sail. Keeping the wind was easier and steering was much more responsive than Honu. Of course I love Honu so no disrespect there.

Sailing in Australia

In 2007 I returned to Australia to sail the boat up to the Great Barrier Reef with Susan. We planned the trip with day sails up the coast stopping in the Whitsundays and other ports. We made some mistakes and burned out a generator and spent a good amount of time in Townsville getting it fixed, party due to The Queen's Birthday holiday. Howard joined us, but the weather wasn't co-operative so we left early and explored Sydney.
