Five months ago my best friend of 29 years, lover, partner, husband for 25 years died a horrific death of liver failure after being denied a transplant. We separated in 2018 and took a while to work back to being best friends. The pandemic complicated matters because Howard worked in the public and wasn’t vaccinated. So mom & I didn’t see him much other than briefly standing far apart wearing masks. 2020 was a difficult year for all of us. 

But he got vaccinated and started visiting us again. Occasionally coming over for dinner.

I’m not exactly sure where this chronicle will go or why I’m doing it. I just have some things to work through and writing them down may help.
