Well not really. But here’s some times I’ve been in print. I will be adding more as I scan my folder of clippings
This extensive article explains how my employer, Charles Schwab & Co, Inc., implemented Web Trading as we all called it. While there's a bit of hyperbole here it's basically factually accurate. We were given a very short timeline to get something up and running. Vince, a former boss, recruited me for the team. I had spent 3 years being moved from project to project. They all were tossed, but I gained lots of experience and training. Having been a Registered Representative on the phones with customers for over 2 years, and familiar with Trading I was a good fit. Within 2.5 years the service we built went from 0% of the Retail business to 85% of the Retails business. We then had lunch with Chuck Schwab in a conference room. It was a decidedly not fancy affair. Sandwiches if I remember correctly.
After I retired 3 of us were in Forbes ASAP as Schwillionaires. Schwab Millionaires.
I submitted a recipe to Sunset Magazine. I had made a Gourmet Magazine recipe low fat. They modified it slightly to make it even more low fat and published it. They surprised me with at $50 check and a Good Cook Certificate. The recipe is still on the Sunset website: https://www.sunset.com/recipe/very-low-fat-apricot-cheesecake
I was also in Gourmet Magazine. The Letters to the Editor at least
When I volunteered for The Names Project Memorial Quilt on Market Street there was a time when there was some controversy about using the quilt as a gay rights icon. IIRC Cleve Jones and the staff didn't like this. I wrote letters to the editor of the SF Chronicle and the Bay Area Reporter.
This is my Where's Waldo Moment. Find me on the cover of the Honolulu gay magazine DaKine
We met Beth Spotswood at an Olympic watch party hosted by Brian Boitano. She came to Oakland a couple of weeks later to write a feature about us!
This is the online version. The text is the same, but the website showed our picture. It's even a good one.
