Spain 1975
The trip to Spain in 1975, while Generalissimo Francisco Franco was still in power. It was a life changing trip. Two weeks in August. Franco died in December ushering in a whole new Spain. While seeing guards with machine guns on the streets of Madrid at night was a bit disconcerting as a young teenager it made me feel safe. Oh my political naivety.
HS Chorus & Craft Fair
I was in the paper for our HS chorus and they caught me hawking my wares at a local craft fair. Over the years I sold candles and sand art at a table hosted by my Aunt Hazel & Uncle Ernie. They sold lapidary jewelry items.
West Side Story
The height of my acting career was Baby John in West Side Story. I was unprepared for the laughter I’d garner in the Officer Krupkie number as the Kindly Social Worker, singing in falsetto with a shower cap on my head. As was the case with my Lord Capulet in Romeo & Juliet the second night was easier.
